“Let the children come to me and do not stop them: for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.”
(Matthew 19:14).
Scripture and our United Methodist tradition inform us in our belief that God values all of human life - perhaps children
most of all. Therefore, it shall be the policy and covenant of the United Methodist Church to do everything in our power to
prevent physical, emotional or sexual abuse against children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities involved in
any ministry sponsored by our local church.
Saint Mark's believes in the importance of providing a safe and nurturing environment for everyone to learn about God
and to grow in community. For that reason we require anyone who works with children, youth or disabled adults to be trained,
have a background check and be registered.
We hold regular training classes and follow United Methodist procedures.
